What it does

Finds cross-border sellers

Periodic category sweeps build an index of active sellers by the country their stock ships from.

Shows what each seller actually sells

For a given store, their active inventory grouped by category, with price and listing age.

Measures sales over time

eBay publishes a lifetime sold counter per listing, not a periodic one. We record that counter on a schedule; the difference between two readings is the sales for that period.

How it uses the eBay API

Read-only, buy side
Browse API only — item_summary/search and getItem. It does not create, modify or end listings, and it does not transact.
Application access token only
Client credentials grant. It never requests, holds or refreshes a user access token, and it uses no Sell API.
Public data only
Listing and seller information that eBay already shows publicly. No order data, no buyer data, and no eBay user personal data of any kind.
Deliberately conservative call volume
Every request passes through a single accounting point with a daily budget, priority reservation, result caching, and exponential backoff honouring Retry-After. Listings are dropped from the refresh schedule after 30 days of no interest, so call volume tracks real usage rather than index size.

Honesty about the numbers

Our figures are measurements, not eBay statistics

eBay does not publish period sales figures. Everything we show for a period is derived from our own repeated readings, and the product marks how much data each figure is based on. Where we are only tracking part of a seller's inventory, we say so on screen rather than presenting a partial total as a complete one.
